The Beirut Shorts International Film Festival has proudly attained the status of an Academy Awards (OSCARS) Qualifying Film Festival, the first of its kind in Lebanon and among few in the Arab world. This milestone provides an unprecedented opportunity for Lebanese and international filmmakers, as films that win in three official competition categories—Best Live Action, Best Documentary, and Best Animation—will now be eligible for OSCARS consideration.

Welcome to the Cinema For Peace Fund Program dedicated to senior film students in their post-production phase. We understand the importance of this critical juncture in a filmmaker's journey. Our program will offer a financial fund to help students with selected projects to bring their cinematic visions to life. We're committed to nurturing creativity and inspiring impactful storytelling on themes of peace, justice, and social change. Join us as we empower the next generation of filmmakers to make a difference through their art.

Meiduo - Film (China)
Traumatised by the tragic death of a Syrian boy, war journalist Meido returns to China to shoot a documentary in Tibet. During the two-month shoot, she not only finds herself deeply entangled in a love affair with Dawa, a Tibetan man and Monk-to-be but is forced to face her inner demons of death and destiny when she discovers a wild “wolf boy” Suo Hua in the forest. Wading through the dense mystery of Tibetan highland, Meido forges ahead against all the odds on her journey of the soul- searching that breaks, strengthens, and ultimately heals her.
